Hydrometeorology
The National Environmental Agency of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture, with the financial support of the Green Climate Fund and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP Georgia), has purchased state-of-the-art high-tech equipment - Information and Telecommunication Technology (ICT) system.
Using the ICT system, meteorological and hydrological parameters will be collected nationally, internationally, quality controlled and disseminated, as well as synoptic products from the World Weather Forecast Centers and their visualization.
The ICT system also includes the component for the dissemination of early warning of expected natural hydrometeorological and related geological events, the proper functioning of which is particularly important in the process of natural disaster management.
The information and telecommunication technologies (ICT) system provides the most accurate information services to the weather and climate-dependent economic sectors (agriculture, energy, transport, etc.) and the population.
