International experts conducted trainings for hydrometeorologists

Invited international experts conducted trainings for the specialists of the Hydrometeorology Department of the National Environmental Agency of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture.

The experts visited to Georgia in the framework of the project "Climate Change Risk Reduction" supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

During the trainings, participants discussed the issues of composite drought indices. The hydrological and hydraulic models required for the preparation of flood maps of rivers: Supsa, Natan and Kintrish basins were tested and perfected with international experts.

The specialists of the National Environmental Agency's Hydrometeorology Department, with the involvement of experts, discussed future plans for flood mapping, the sequence of field and chamber work, and the methodological part for the various river basins.
