The specialists of the National Environmental Agency had training on the maintenance of the new meteorological radar

The National Environment Agency of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture, with the financial support of the Government of Georgia, purchased the modern standart meteorological radar, that was equiped near the village Kiketi in eastern Georgia. The total cost of the project is 4 241 336 GEL.
The radar is manufactured by one of the world's leading Finnish companies "VAISALA". The representative of the company "VAISALA" held trainings on meteorological radar maintenance services for the specialists of the National Environment Agency.
The new meteorological radar will be put into operation very soon, through which it will be possible to determine the expected amount and intensity of precipitation in almost the entire territory of the Eastern Georgia, which will provide timely information and forecasts for possible natural disasters.
The similar type of radar was purchased last year by the National Environment Agency with the financial support of the United States Government and placed near the city of Kutaisi.
