With the participation of specialists of the National Environment Agency of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture and experts of the Austrian Environment Agency, a working meeting was held within the framework of the European Union project on the topic "Separation of underground water bodies - data interpretation". At the meeting, the participants discussed the issues defined by the European Union Water Framework Directive on the definition of underground water bodies and the interpretation of chemical data. International and local experts discussed the works carried out in connection with underground water bodies in Georgia, the existing methodology and the planned joint field hydrogeological studies in the target areas of the project (Rion and Enguri river basins). The implementation of the project "European Union for the Environment - Water Resources and Environmental Data" will contribute to the strengthening of the agency's capabilities in implementing water monitoring in Georgia in accordance with the requirements of European directives.
