National Environmental Agency

The students of Sukhumi State University were given practical work in the agency

Hydrometeorology

Within the framework of the memorandum of cooperation between the National Environment Agency of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture and Sukhumi State University, students attended the lecture "Climatology and Air Resources" by Liana Kartvelishvili, Doctor of Geography.

Within the framework of the mentioned lecture, the students were in the complex meteorological station of the National Environment Agency, where they got to know the working principles of air and soil temperature, synovial, solar radiation measuring devices, including the barometer, which is the only one in Georgia.

Students were also given practical work in the laboratory of atmospheric air, water and soil analysis of the National Environment Agency. The students, together with the laboratory staff, took part in the research of atmospheric air, water and soil using biological and chemical methods.

Students were also in the calibration laboratory of meteorological measuring devices. This laboratory provides scheduled calibration of hydrometeorological stations located throughout the country, which increases the quality of atmospheric pressure, temperature and humidity measurements, as well as minimizes the error of hydrometeorological parameters measurements.

It should be noted that lectures-seminars are held annually by the leading specialists of the National Environment Agency for geography-geology majors and help them improve their qualifications, apply theoretical knowledge in practice, and develop appropriate skills.
