Geology

In the Kakheti region, near the village of Gremi, a photo trap has detected vandalism - the solar energy panel and internal electrical devices of the automatic station of the underground fresh drinking water monitoring network have been damaged. The person who carried out the act of vandalism has been identified. The material was sent to the relevant agency for further response. The financial loss caused exceeds tens of thousands of GEL.

The automatic stations of the underground fresh drinking water monitoring network of the National Environment Agency are mainly located in uninhabited places and near rivers. Due to frequent cases of damage and robbery of the existing stations, last year, the National Environment Agency installed photo traps at the stations.

The operation of automatic underground water monitoring stations serves to protect the safety of the population. By means of automatic devices, the National Environment Agency is continuously provided with data on the increase in the water levels of various rivers and the amount of precipitation falling in the surrounding area. Based on the information received from the stations, the main quantitative and qualitative characteristics of underground fresh drinking water are determined.

The National Environment Agency once again urges everyone to stop vandalism, which destroys the state property of important purpose for every citizen of our country.
