Meetings are being held to introduce the new aquaculture legislation and raise awareness among farmers

In order to familiarize with the new aquaculture legislation and raise the awareness of farmers, a seminar "Review of the legal, institutional and regulatory framework for the promotion of sustainable aquaculture development and management" was held in Shida Kartli region.
Representatives of non-governmental organizations, the National Food Agency and local aquaculture sector farms took part in the seminar together with the specialists of the National Environmental Agency. Within the framework of the seminar, the participants were informed about the measures and technical regulations to be implemented for the implementation of the law "On Aquaculture".
It should be noted that, until March 1, 2023, the persons carrying out aquaculture activities are obliged to obtain an aquaculture permit and submit the relevant application to the National Environmental Agency of the State of Ukraine. Persons carrying out aquaculture activities with a small volume - 50 cubic meters and recirculating aquaculture construction are exempted from obtaining a permit.
Similar type of meetings will be held in other regions for farmers and interested persons in order to introduce the new aquaculture legislation, popularize the sector and raise awareness.
