Agency specialists took part in the meeting of the organizing committee of the actively developing flood forecasting system in Antalya

Representatives of the Department of Hydrometeorology of the National Environmental Agency took part in the meeting of the organizing committee of the World Meteorological Organization, the Black Sea and the Middle East regions on the flash flood management system in Antalya.
The meeting noted that the development of a rapidly developing flood forecasting system for the Black Sea and the Middle East countries will significantly increase the effectiveness of early warning of expected rapidly developing floods in the region, including in Georgia, which will help prevent and mitigate possible negative consequences.
At the meeting of the committee, the information received by the flood forecasting system of the countries of the Black Sea and the Middle East was evaluated. Gaps in the functioning of the flood forecasting system in the region were also discussed, a development strategy and plans for the future were developed.
Heads and specialists of hydrometeorological and emergency services of the World Meteorological Organization, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Turkey, Lebanon, Palestine and Georgia took part in the organizational meeting of the actively developing flood forecasting.
