The head of the National Environment Agency introduced the annual report to the members of the committee
At the session of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, the head of the National Environment Agency, Tamar Pitskhelauri, introduced the 2022 report and future plans of the agency to the members of the committee. Tamar Fitskhelauri spoke about such activities as the monitoring systems implemented in the agency, the expansion of the surveillance network and radar observation. Expansion of underground drinking water and atmospheric air monitoring network. It is also worth noting the planned restoration of the aerological observation system, which will allow the country to take a place on the world map of aerological observation. In addition, new directions were added to the Agency this year, which ensure the implementation of strategic environmental and environmental impact assessment, public participation in the relevant decision-making process, and conducting expertise, as well as the planning of environmental damage remedial measures. The session was attended by the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Nino Tandilashvili, members of the Parliament and employees of the National Environment Agency.
