Specialists of the Hydrometeorological Department of the National Environmental Agency took part in the international forum on rapidly developing flood forecasting systems in Skopje, Republic of North Macedonia.
The Forum was supported by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and was attended by 203 delegates from 64 countries.
The forum discussed the functioning of rapidly developing flood forecasting modeling systems, the integration of new observation networks with these systems, and the capabilities of the participating countries in these areas. The participants discussed the measures that need to be taken to improve these systems, recommendations were made related to improving the quality of flash flood forecasting and preventing and mitigating the negative consequences caused by this event.
