Environmental pollution monitoring
The water quality of the Black Sea is within the norm based on the analysis of 59 parameters in samples obtained in July 6 and 10 by the LEPL National Environmental Agency of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture.
Chemical parameters of the seawater were assessed, 13 heavy metals, total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH), 16 polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), physical-chemical parameters etc.
National Environment Agency has ramped up its surveillance of the Black Sea water quality. The agency conducts checks at nine stations across the Black Sea every ten days and since July 10, the number of stations has increased, 3 points were added in the Anaklia-Ganmukhuri area.
Collected samples are sent to the atmospheric air, water, and soil analysis laboratory of the National Environment Agency. This laboratory follows to modern requirements and standards. Equipped with highly precise analytical instruments, the laboratory is accredited under ISO 17025.
The results obtained are shared with the public.
