The distribution of the share of sources of air pollution of the western zone has been completed
Environmental pollution monitoring
Within the framework of the ongoing project on Improving Air Quality Policy Development through the Implementation of Integrated Air Pollution Monitoring Tools with the support of the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the Governments of Sweden, the international expert team spread the share of sources of air pollution in the western zone of Georgia.
This activity involves obtaining information on pollution sources and determining the share of these sources in air pollution levels.
According to the European Union Air Quality Directive (2008/50/EC), obtaining this information and determining the proportion of pollution are necessary for the development of air quality plans.
It should be noted that according to the Order of the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia of 2021, the territory of Georgia is divided into five zones for monitoring and management of atmospheric air quality and one agglomeration.
