A specialist from the National Environmental Agency underwent an internship in Rovinj, Croatia

In Rovinj, Croatia, as part of the EU project "Water Resources and Environmental Data," a training course was held, which included the identification and assessment of the state of macroalgae in accordance with the EU Water Framework Directive using the Macrophyte Ecological Assessment Index, which serves as indicators of ecological quality.
Mariam Tsetskadze, a specialist from the Department of Fisheries, Aquaculture, and Water Biodiversity of the National Environmental Agency, participated in the training course.
The main objective of the course was to harmonize research methods with European standards. Also, using the acquired knowledge, evaluate the ecological status class of the Georgian Black Sea coast.
It should be noted that the goal of the "Water Resources and Environmental Data" project is to support Eastern Partnership countries in the sustainable use of water resources and improve the accessibility of reliable environmental data.
As part of the project, the National Environmental Agency conducts research on the biodiversity of the Georgian coast and transitional waters of the Black Sea.
