I would like to thank the team of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for their support and for the project in which many important things have already been done in Georgia, including the creation of hazard maps. We are fully aware of the importance of developing capacity at the national level to ensure that all measures implemented by the project are effective. I am also very grateful to the Government of Switzerland, because our specialists were given the opportunity to participate in the study tours to Switzerland, to learn about the problems of disaster risk management and to discuss ways to address them", said the First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Nino Tandilashvili.
The transfer of the Swiss experience and its adaptation to the realities of Georgia can be a good start for the country affected by the severe consequences of the Shova disaster. We will continue to support and strengthen the National Environmental Agency. I would also like to thank international experts for organizing interesting programs and meetings for study visits. I welcome the existing cooperation between the countries and am glad that this support will continue», - said Barbara Bioni, Head of the Regional Cooperation Department of the Embassy of Switzerland.
