Specialists from the National Environmental Agency participated in meetings, international conferences, and educational trainings organized by the GFCM in the format of the Black Sea Working Group and the subregional group for the assessment of resources, as part of cooperation with the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (FAO/GFCM) of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
Educational trainings related to the study of methods for determining the age of priority fish species in the Black Sea were held at the Central Fisheries Research Institute in Trabzon and Istanbul University.
These activities aim to standardize the assessment of biological resources in the Black Sea and harmonize research methods between Mediterranean and Black Sea countries, as well as facilitate the exchange of experience and the enhancement of specialists' qualifications.
