Weather Warning

Hydrometeorology

From February 5 to February 8, precipitation is expected across Georgia, predominantly in the form of snow, with heavy snowfall likely in the western regions. In the mountainous areas, fog, blizzard, icy roads, risk of avalanches, and ice on power lines are expected. A strong storm is anticipated at sea. Very strong winds are anticipated on February 6.

Due to the heavy snowfall, poor visibility, blizzards, icy road conditions, and the risk of avalanches, traffic may be restricted on certain sections of highways.

The expected heavy precipitation could lead to a significant rise in water levels at the rivers in Western Georgia and trigger and activate landslides and mudslides in hilly areas.
