The Agency’s Specialist Participates in Study Visit to the Aquaculture Research Institute at the University of Idaho, USA

The specialist of the Department of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Aquatic Biodiversity of the National Environmental Agency, Ms. Marika Makharadze, participated in a study visit to the Aquaculture Research Institute of the University of Idaho, USA. The mentioned training program was implemented within the framework of the climate-smart agriculture extension project, funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and organized by "Farmer of the Future".

The training course included theoretical learning and practical visits to processing enterprises. As part of the program, participants learned about trout feeding management and specifics, common diseases and their management, biosecurity and farm management practices, as well as the control and monitoring of water quality and other water characteristics.

The mentioned activities contribute to the professional development of specialists, sharing of experience, and implementation of sustainable aquaculture principles in the country.
