The agency statement regarding transboundary pollution

Environmental pollution monitoring

According to the information of the National Environmental Agency, in some regions of Georgia, as well as in the capital, since June 6, an increase in the content of solid particles has been detected in the air (PM10, PM2.5), which is mainly connected to the transboundary pollution and is due to the slight spread of desert dust masses from the southwest, south, and southeast.

It has to be noted that the transboundary pollution is recorded during a similar synoptic situation on certain days of the year.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and the LEPL National Environmental Agency proceed with continuous monitoring of ambient air quality through automatic stations.

Any interested person has the opportunity to learn about the state of air quality and also receive health recommendations on the ambient air quality portal: www.air.gov.ge.
