Geology

In the framework of the project "Assessment of Geological Hazards in Khevsureti", specialists of the Department of Geology of the National Environmental Agency were on a study visit to the Czech Republic.

Georgian specialists got acquainted with the remote methods of landslide research and modern technologies at the Geological Service of the Czech Republic. As part of the field study tour, the participants visited the settlement of Kavchini destroyed by natural geological processes and the nearby rocks of Prigraz and they attended the two-day conference "The state of geomorphological research in 2024" held in Krzhtyn.

As part of the return visit outlined in the project, a working meeting was held between specialists from the Department of Geology at the National Environmental Agency and representatives of the Czech Geological Survey (CGS).

During the meeting, the parties discussed both the activities that have been implemented and those that are planned within the current project, as well as the upcoming field geological studies.

It is important to note that the project "Assessment of Geological Hazards in Khevsureti" is being implemented as part of the cooperation between the Czech Republic and UNDP under the Czech-UNDP Partnership for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
