Visit of the delegation of the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center of the Republic of Armenia to the Agency

A delegation of the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center of the Republic of Armenia was on a working visit to the National Environmental Agency.

Within the visit, the guests were introduced to the activities of the local hydrometeorological service and visited the warning system in the Devdoraki River Valley, the Kiketi meteorological radar, and the laboratories for hydrometeorological calibration, as well as atmospheric air, water, and soil analysis.

During the working meetings, the parties discussed the exchange of experiences between the National Environmental Agency and the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center of Armenia, potential areas for cooperation, and the feasibility of implementing joint projects.

The purpose of the aforementioned program is to enhance the security and management of water resources among the countries of the South Caucasus, as well as to support effective regional cooperation in this area.

It is important to note that as part of the same program, the head of the National Environmental Agency, along with specialists from the Hydrometeorology Department, undertook a working visit to the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center of Armenia in Yerevan.

The working visits were conducted with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) as part of the South Caucasus Regional Water Resources Management (SCRWM) program.
