The agency continues the monitoring of water quality in the Black Sea
Aquaculture
On August 14, the National Environmental Agency of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture conducted another survey of the water quality of the Black Sea.
The samples taken from the Black Sea were sent for analysis to the accredited laboratory of ambient air, water, and soil analysis of the National Environmental Agency. The laboratory is equipped with high-precision analytical tools and fully meets modern standards.
The obtained results will be published as soon as the laboratory analyses are completed.
The National Environmental Agency monitors the water quality of the Black Sea continuously, every month. Hydrobiological and chemical parameters, including 13 heavy metals, total petroleum hydrocarbons, 16 polyaromatic hydrocarbons, and other physicochemical parameters, are determined during the water sampling studies at 12 points.
The National Environmental Agency last monitored the water quality of the Black Sea a month ago, on July 10 and 11. According to the laboratory analysis results, the quality of water was within the norm. The research determined chemical parameters, including the concentration of 13 heavy metals, total petroleum hydrocarbons, 16 polyaromatic hydrocarbons, and other physico-chemical parameters.
It should be noted that, in accordance with the EU maritime strategy framework directive, the National Environmental Agency is actively working on improving the monitoring system.
