Training of international experts at the National Environmental Agency
Hydrometeorology
World Bank experts held a training course on hydrological data processing, analysis, forecasting and hydrometric measurements at the National Environmental Agency of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture.
The employees of the Hydrometeorology Department had the opportunity to receive information from British and Austrian experts on modern approaches and methods available in the world.
Within the framework of the training, data collected on Georgian rivers were processed and analyzed; the DELFT-FEWS early warning platform system was discussed.
Within the framework of the same training, hydrometric measurements were conducted at hydrological checkpoints on the White and Black Aragvi in the Pasanauri district, where the invited experts presented practical recommendations to improve the effectiveness of the measurements.
The training was implemented within the framework of the World Bank-supported technical assistance project "Georgia: Supporting Disaster Risk Reduction through Strengthening Hydrometeorological, Climate and Early Warning Capacities and Services".
