Specialists of the National Environmental Agency Got Acquainted with the Work of Austria’s Leading Hydrometeorological Service

Specialists from the Hydrology Department of the National Environment Agency visited Austria on a study tour within the framework of the World Bank-funded project “Georgia: Supporting Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) through Strengthening Hydrometeorological, Climate, and Early Warning Capacities and Services.’’
The purpose of the visit was to enhance the qualifications of the Agency’s staff and to promote long-term institutional cooperation with Austria’s leading hydrometeorological services.
During the visit, the specialists were introduced to modern hydrometeorological observation infrastructure, water discharge measurement and data management systems, as well as the operational processes of the forecasting system for natural hydrometeorological events and multi-hazard impact-based services.
The study visit will contribute to deepening the knowledge of specialists in the relevant filed, sharing the latest European experience, as well as establishing long-term cooperation with international partners and the continuous professional growth of the staff.
