The Head of the National Environmental Agency, Elene Ghubianuri, participated in the International Energy Forum.
During the conference held within the framework of the forum, the Head of the Agency spoke about the role of the National Environmental Agency in relation to the energy sector and emphasized the amendments made to the Environmental Assessment Code.
“First of all, I would like to highlight the amendments made to the Environmental Assessment Code and emphasize the involvement of the Ministry’s leadership in this process. Our goal is not to be a barrier to business projects, but, on the one hand, to ensure high standards of environmental protection and, on the other hand, to support the implementation of all activities that are important for the country’s development and economic progress. According to the plan, by 2030, we must maximize the utilization and development of resources in order to increase our country’s energy independence and level of security, which plays a crucial role in national security,” stated the Head of the National Environmental Agency, Elene Ghubianuri.
The Georgia International Energy Exhibition and Forum is being held for the second time this year, and its aim is to promote the development of the energy sector, share innovative approaches within the sector, attract investments, and deepen international cooperation.
Various panel discussions and sessions within the forum address modern trends in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and energy security.
