Head of the Agency Met with World Bank and British Experts on Water Resources Management

The Head of the National Environmental Agency, Elene Ghubianuri, met with experts from the World Bank and HR Wallingford, a British international consulting company specializing in water resources management.

The meeting was held within the framework of the "Georgia Resilient Agriculture, Irrigation, and Land Project" (GRAIL).

"The parties discussed the development of the normative acts and methodologies required for the implementation of the Law of Georgia on Water Resources Management. This activity is planned to be carried out within the framework of a new component of the project.

The objective of developing these secondary acts (bylaws) and methodologies is to establish a modern, integrated water resources management system and to ensure alignment with international standards and the EU Water Framework Directive."

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Heads of the Agency, Irakli Megrelidze and Tamar Sharashidze, as well as representatives from the Agency's sectoral departments and the Ministry's Environment and Climate Change Department.
