At the National Environmental Agency, a consortium meeting was held within the framework of the project “Black Sea Smart Marine Environmental Outcomes System.”
The project is being implemented by the Agency in cooperation with Turkish and Romanian partners, with financial support from the European Union.
This innovative environmental monitoring project is designed to improve the ecology and sustainability of the Black Sea by utilizing cutting-edge, AI-based forecasting technologies, as well as smart and autonomous surface vehicles.
During the consortium meeting, participants discussed the introduction of innovative technologies, including issues related to the procurement and use of marine drones. Drone-based monitoring will be carried out for the first time in an automated mode at various locations in the sea, enabling the assessment of key marine environmental parameters such as temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen levels, and seabed characteristics. These data will be essential for evaluating the ecological status of Black Sea waters.
Within the framework of the project, ecological data on the Black Sea are being collected, analyzed, and shared, contributing to the development of a sustainable and productive marine ecosystem.
