A delegation from Tajikistan visited the National Environmental Agency on a working visit.
The purpose of the visit was to share Georgia’s experience and present the results achieved under the project funded by the Green Climate Fund, titled “Scaling up Multi-Hazard Early Warning System and Use of Climate Information in Georgia.”
During the working meeting, specialists from the National Environmental Agency highlighted key challenges and practical examples that emerged during project implementation. This experience is intended to support the Tajik side in implementing its own project funded by the Adaptation Fund—“Strengthening Climate Resilience of Small Farmers and Herders in Tajikistan through an Integrated Landscape Approach”—and to help avoid similar challenges and risks encountered in Georgia.
As part of the visit, the Tajik delegation, together with agency specialists, also inspected a landslide-prone site on Libani Street in Tbilisi, where modern monitoring equipment has been installed under the project.
The initiative is part of a broader climate program aimed at reducing disaster risks caused by climate change in Georgia. It is implemented with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Green Climate Fund (Green Climate Fund), as well as Georgia and Switzerland.
