The Deputy Head of the Agency, Irakli Megrelidze, attended the meeting of EUMETNET member countries held in Germany
Hydrometeorology
The Deputy Head of the National
Environmental Agency, Irakli Megrelidze, together with the Head of the Early
Warning Division of the Hydrometeorology Department, attended a working meeting
of the member countries of the European meteorological network “EUMETNET” in
Offenbach, Germany.
The aim of the meeting was to
define relevant procedures for newly joined countries and to establish
mechanisms that will ensure the integration of meteorological warnings into the
European platform Meteoalarm. This system represents a unified European-scale
space that provides visualization of meteorological warnings issued by
different countries.
It is noteworthy that, alongside
the implementation of information and communication technologies (ICT) at the
National Environmental Agency, the process of integrating warning dissemination
into Meteoalarm is actively underway. As a member organization of EUMETNET,
Georgia is gradually aligning with European standards, ensuring faster, more
accurate, and more effective dissemination of meteorological information both
nationally and internationally.
The European meteorological network “EUMETNET” is one of the leading organizations in the field, bringing together 33 member countries and 6 partner countries. The network aims to strengthen cooperation among member states, promote the sharing of data and experience, and support the development of modern meteorological services across Europe.
