Climate forecast for the summer season of 2026

The Mediterranean Climate Outlook Forum (MEDCOF-24) and the South-Eastern European Climate Outlook Forum (SEECOF-35) have prepared a forecast for the summer season of 2026.
According to the forecast, the average air temperature in the summer season is expected to be 1-2 degrees higher than the climatic norm across the entire territory of Georgia, while atmospheric precipitation is expected to be below the norm and within the normal range.
On individual days of the summer season, significant deviations from the climatic norm in air temperature may be noted. In particular, the air temperature in the lowlands and steppes of the country may reach +38, +41 degrees, in mountainous areas +37, +40, and in highland areas +33, +36 degrees.
It is also possible that, in individual periods of the season, extreme weather typical of summer - heat waves, drought conditions or heavy precipitation - may be noted.
