Environmental pollution monitoring
Within the framework of the grant project “Interventions for further reduction and prevention of marine litter generation in the Black Sea” signed between the National Environmental Agency and the Black Sea Pollution Control Commission (BSC), cleaning activities were held on the Black Sea coastline.
Within the framework of the mentioned event, representatives of the Agency and children of Batumi Public School No. 25 separated the waste collected in Sarpi, Gonio, Kobuleti and Grigoleti. The aim of the events was to collect new data on waste and also to raise awareness on the issues of further reduction and prevention of marine litter generation in the Black Sea.
A similar campaign is planned to be held in September of this year within the framework of the project, as well as the gradual implementation of the National Marine Litter Monitoring Program and strengthening regional monitoring capabilities.
