With the involvement of the National Environmental Agency, an educational meeting titled "The Importance of Waste Management and Current Best Practices" was held at a youth eco-camp in Gori.

During the meeting, Ani Martkoplishvili—a representative of the Agency’s Waste and Chemical Substances Permits Division—spoke to the camp participants about waste management and the relevant convention. The session was conducted in an interactive format and included practical exercises.

Participants received information on the waste management hierarchy, prevention, reuse and recycling, the circular economy, electronic waste, microplastics, extended producer responsibility, and the transboundary movement of waste. They also learned about the circular economy and the Basel Convention.

Practical activities—specifically a "Waste Court" simulation—sparked particular interest among the attendees; in this exercise, the young participants assumed the roles of various stakeholders and deliberated on issues of responsibility.

The event was organized at the initiative of the Youth Agency. As part of eco-educational meetings, young people had the opportunity to learn about the importance of environmental protection and to actively participate in raising environmental awareness.
