The National Environment Agency continues to work to improve air quality monitoring in the country
Environmental pollution monitoring
A one-day remote working seminar was held with the participation of an international expert and specialists of the Agency invited within the framework of the current project "Improving Air Quality Management Capacities in Georgia". The meeting was also attended by representatives of the relevant services of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture.
At the seminar, international expert Giorgio Arduino shared his international experience in the field of air quality monitoring with his Georgian counterparts and presented the document "Air Quality Monitoring Network Development Plan (Guide)" developed by him. Above mentioned document will assist the National Environment Agency in planning and ensuring the expansion of the ambient air quality monitoring network in line with the requirements of the relevant EU directives.
The initiative "Improving Air Quality Management Capacities in Georgia" is implemented by the National Environment Agency with the support of the Swedish Government under the Governance Reform Fund (UNDP-GRF) project of the United Nations Development Program.
