Specialists of the National Environment Agency of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture conducted field geological surveys on the territory of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti.
The studies were conducted for development of geological hazard zoning maps and improvement of the monitoring system. The final results obtained during the studies will help to protect the local population from the negative impact of spontaneously developed geological processes. In addition, the results of the studies will serve as an important information for the implementation of sustainable infrastructural projects.
The field studies are carried out in the framework of the project funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP Georgia).
