A geological report was prepared by the specialists of the National Environment Agency

Specialists of the Geology Department of the National Environment Agency of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture, in 2020-2021, carried out geological planning works within the target area of Kakheti (Akhmeta, Kvareli) and Mtskheta-Mtianeti (Dusheti).
Based on the surveys, a state geological map with a scale of 1: 200 000 was prepared as well as a set of useful fossils and tectonic maps with the relevant geological report, which includes information about the geological conditions within the target area.
It should be noted that state geological maps have not been compiled in the indicated areas since the 1980s.
The geological report is the basis for all directions of geology including natural geological processes, groundwater, minerals and other types of geological surveys and is of particular importance in terms of managing the geological problems in the country.
