LEPL National Environment Agency of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, with the support of the European Union, together with five countries, is implementing the project consortium "Promoting Technology Innovation in Environmental Monitoring and Modelling for Assessment of Fish Stock and Non-fish Resources" (TIMMOD), in the framework of which the First Pilot Demonstrations Tests, Training and Sea-survey were carried out in Varna with the involvement of Georgian specialists.
The program included demonstration and training on innovative equipment in the western Black Sea coast together with biological sample collection and trawling.
The project "Promoting Technological Innovations in Environmental Monitoring and Modeling for Assessing Fish Stocks and Non-Fishery Resources" (TIMMOD) aims to facilitate the coordination of protection of the Black Sea basin and marine litter reduction using modern technologies and focusing on improvement of the joint maritime environmental monitoring.
The First Pilot Demonstrations Tests, Training and Sea-survey were organized and hosted by the Black Sea - Danube Association of Research and Development (BDCA) together with the lead Beneficiary Institute of Fish Resources - Varna (IFR)The main objectives of the demonstration survey were achieved, providing an excellent basis for further implementation of the TIMMOD work plan.
