Georgia becomes a member of the European Medium-Term Weather Forecast Center (ECMWF)

The Parliament of Georgia voted in favor of the draft resolution on ratification of the Agreement between Georgia and the European Center for Medium-Term Weather Forecasts with 81 votes.
This cooperation was initiated by the National Environment Agency of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture.
Based on the cooperation, the accuracy of weather forecasts in the country will be increased, which will make it possible to prepare early warnings about natural meteorological and related hydrological and geological events.
The European Center for Medium-Term Weather Forecasting is one of the world's leading meteorological organizations, producing and distributing digital weather forecasts to 34 member countries, collaborating with member countries' meteorological and hydrological services, and enhancing their capabilities.
