Hydrometeorology
The young specialists will be involved in flood modeling and mapping at the National Environmental Agency of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
The students have had the trainings of international experts on these issues. The beginner specialists will be assisted by experts in carrying out practical work.
In the framework of the project "Strengthening the capacity for adaptation to climate change in Georgia", from 2019 to date, the National Environment Agency has employed more than ten young specialists, the five of them have become permanent employees of the agencies.
The project aims to model natural hydrometeorological and geological hazards (floods / floods, hail, snow avalanches, droughts, strong winds, landslides, mudslides) throughout the country and to develop relevant maps.
