Environmental pollution monitoring
Determining the degree of pollution caused by natural and anthropogenic pollution of different levels on the territory of Georgia through atmospheric air, water, atmospheric precipitation, Black Sea and soil chemical, biological and microbiological pollution, as well as natural radiation and natural radiation. Determining the levels of factors (electromagnetic field, noise, etc.);
Creating databases on the quality of the environment and controlling the quality of relevant data;

Providing information on the state of environmental pollution to state authorities and stakeholders;
Participate in work to uncover extremely high levels of environmental pollution;
Participate in the review of environmental impact assessment reports of permits for industrial facilities, mandatory documentation under the permit conditions (environmental monitoring and mitigation action plans), prepare relevant remarks, recommendations and conclusions;
Participate in expert commissions established for the purpose of examining the environmental impact assessment report;
Participate in the procedures of environmental inspection of industrial facilities together with the staff of the Department of Environmental Supervision within the scope of competence;
Carrying out on-site measurement work on the basis of complaints received from the residents;
Participate in work to determine the facts of extremely high levels of environmental pollution within the scope of its competence;
Participate in the assessment of the damage caused by emergency environmental situations within the scope of its competence;
Participate in the development and implementation of state targeted programs in the field of anthropogenic threat reduction within the scope of its competence;
Develop and implement a system for anthropogenic hazard assessment and classification together with the authorized administrative bodies, taking into account modern methodologies and approaches;
Maintain an information register on anthropogenic hazard mitigation measures and facilitate hazard mapping;
Participate in the planning of measures to neutralize sources of historical pollution within the scope of competence;
Preparation of yearbooks, bulletins, reviews, references and other materials containing factual information on environmental pollution;
Investigate and monitor the sources and emissions of environmental pollution on the basis of agreements concluded with stakeholders (customers), determine the effectiveness of treatment plants and dust collection equipment; Development of draft norms for maximum emission and discharge of harmful substances;
Participate in international cooperation in the field of environmental pollution monitoring within the scope of its competence;
Within the scope of competence, exercise other powers defined by law.
